Last weekend of October 25-26, the First Congress of Embat, the 
Libertarian Organization of Catalonia, was held. As is already known, in 
2013 the Embat Process began, which by 2015 resulted in the current 
organization. Until now, we have operated following a scheme of monthly 
work meetings and annual or biannual general assemblies, depending on 
the needs. Continuing with the evolution of the Organization, Embat 
approved the Political Line in 2021, from which point a deployment of 
strategic and tactical agreements has followed.

The Congress that we have just held has dealt, in particular, with 
territorial deployment and the constitution of an Embat of a federative 
nature in order to establish ourselves with greater strength throughout 
Catalonia. The result is an Organization formed by nuclei, and fronts 
(which had already been operating before: labor and community) and a 
Secretariat and a Federal Council formed by eight secretariats 
(organization, economy, anti-patriarchal, training, communication and 
propaganda, expansion, care and relations), in addition to the temporary 
thematic working groups, created for each occasion that requires it. The 
priorities of Embat, OLC at this time/period will be to prepare the 
correct implementation of our new structure.

The members gathered at the Congress also approved an analysis of the 
situation that will be published very soon, as well as a policy of 
alliances with other organizations, common issues among political 
organizations. As is traditional within our 
anarcho-communist/libertarian socialist movement, in the previous points 
of the elections, different greetings of support and encouragement to 
our organization were read from many sister organizations in places such 
as Galicia, Rojava, Switzerland, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina or 
Australia, as well as more individualized messages from other places 
that showed us their support in a more informal way. personal.

In short, Embat must emerge strengthened from this congressional 
process, which has been carried out throughout this year in which 
important substantive debates have been held, to improve our 
implementation and our structures.
