About the Trident Ploughshares camp and related events
at the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston,
Berkshire, England. (This is where the nuclear
warheads for the British Trident nuclear submarines
are produced.)

The Trident Ploughshares camp starts on Thursday
morning (May 10), with the women's camp by the Falcon
Gate setting up the following day. The TP camp goes on
until early on the morning of May 15.

Saturday in nearby Reading will see a variety of
camp-related activities - starting with a procession
through the town from the railway station at 11.30
a.m. Then there will be street theatre, stalls, etc...

>From 7.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.on Monday 14th, there
will be a non-violent blockade, organised with London
CND. People are very welcome to take part in this, in
either an "arrestable" or a "non-arrestable" capacity.

The TP camp will do non-violence and legal
briefings at the following times: Friday 2-4.30,
Saturday 3-5.30, Sunday 7.30-9.30 (specifically for
the
blockade), also 4.30-9.00 p.m. in Reading.

There will be banner making workshops in the
information tent from 10.00 a.m. each day.

You can get to Aldermaston without a car, on the
train. The best way I've found is to go to the town of
Basingstoke. You then get the local bus from
Basingstoke to the village of Tadley. Ask for the
Falcon pub. The bus puts you down just by the fence of
AWE Aldermaston, facing the Falcon pub. Then if you
walk to the left down the main road, following the
fence, after about five or ten minutes, you come to
the
TP camp.

(There is strictly limited accommodation space in
Reading. Phone Barbara Sunderland on
0772-0662576.)

Phone 01639-700-680 for leaflets and further
information. Or e-mail Helen, coney@gn.apc.org, or
visit Trident Ploughshares website -

www.tridentploughshares.org

If you're interested in knowing more about
becoming a Trident Ploughshares direct action
"pledger," talk to Angie or Sarah at the camp, or
phone David Mackenzie on (01324)-880744.
