(en) Greece, Thessaloniki, APO: The EAAK are the bodyguards of statism in universities | Announcement by Mavro & Kokkino and ASF Quieta Movere (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Announcement from the Collective for Social Anarchism - Black & Red and
the Anarchist Student Assembly Quieta Movere regarding the latest
obscenities of the well-known EAAK/ARAS micro-mafia gang in Thessaloniki
---- Where does violence in universities come from? ---- nyone who has
dealt with the political ferments in the university space even for a
short time knows that in recent years, despite the very great
contradictions that continue to exist between organizations, collectives
and parties that operate in the political spectrum of the Left and the
Anarchist movement, as well as the burdened past, the "intra-movement"
conflicts have been minimized, even annihilated, with one and only
exception: ARAS/EAAK. There is no such event, in which while on one side
there may be any group, organization, youth or party formation of the
Left, on the other, the gang in question will always be inextricably
involved. The formation of a permanent field of physical violence and
imposition through force constitutes the most important - and almost the
only - way of "expression" of this group. In fact, the intensity in the
manifestation of this violence finds an absolute counterpart in the
government narrative of "lawlessness in the universities", with the aim
of easier control, their extinction in order to achieve the double goal
of intensification, subjugation and at the same time the guidance of
thousands of young people to private universities. The militaristic
pogrom organized by ARAS/EAAK at last year's celebration of the
Polytechnic University was the culmination of this strategy. We now know
well what it aims at: just as the government wants to discipline the
universities, the ARAS/EAAK petty mafia that ravages this space wants to
control the bureaucratic remnants of the student movement. If there is
anything that is fatally abhorred, it is the open, mass social struggles
of students, as every time the student movement finds support in
thousands of young men and women, the group in question finds itself
without any real goal on the sidelines of the mobilizations, exhausting
the energy of its members in kick-butts for the series of blocks and
other frivolities. The degeneration of the student movement is grist to
the mill of the gang of micro-mafia. And it comes into complete
identification with the interests it represents through the large
corporations staffed by the same leadership of the group in question.
For the sad and vulgar instrumentalization of gender divisions
Another well-known trick of the said group is the vulgar
instrumentalization of gender divisions by objectifying the women they
have in their ranks. Constantly - as we read in their most recent
announcement - some of their female members appear who, without any
prior reason, bully any social activists they target each time,
attempting if possible to exercise some physical violence (in case there
are many more of them) or if this is not possible, they curse women and
men with impressive vulgarity, using the most sexist expressions
possible, aimed against everything, with lies that are compared only to
the official announcements of the Hellenic Police with the stated aim of
achieving any reaction from each person who receives their unprovoked
attack, so that they can later denounce the sexist attack. All this, of
course, with the support of the male members of the gang, who then
engage in physical violence against everyone with the corresponding
vocabulary that would make any loyal Golden Dawn follower jealous. The
most recent pretexts for the manifestation of these ridiculous
hooliganisms start either from false facts or from incidents that have
nothing to do with the groups, the organizations that they target,
simply proving once again that all they are interested in is the attempt
to impose themselves through violence against social activists. It is
incredibly sad that this bunch of would-be hooligans are using the
instrumentalization of the positive elements that the women's and more
broadly the anti-patriarchal movement of recent years has achieved, so
that it can be used as fuel in the effort to impose themselves within
university spaces.
For the anti-anarchist obsession:
Their obsession with the anti-anarchist campaign has to do, on the one
hand, with the fact that anarchism today is a truly rising force among
the youth, and indeed in its most organized and social form, while at
the same time it shows great resilience against the vulgarities of this
particular circle, responding to their invitations and attacks, while it
represents in its purest form the most important enemy of these gangs:
the unguarded libertarian spirit of social Resistance. All of the above
constitutes a "red flag" along with, of course, all the political
content that anarchist thought highlights and is related to the
criticism of all the "versions" that this particular formation and its
current political patrons of "Popular Unity" have taken, from the most
emasculated reformism and governmentalism, to the new supposedly radical
"anti-imperialism", which is presented as a pool of Siloam for the
official former diners of embassies and diplomats.
Regarding recent events:
All of the above phenomena found expression again on September 30th when
a very small group (2 men and 1 woman) of Quieta Movere went to the
Faculty of Philosophy with the aim of posting political propaganda
material for the 2nd Libertarian Festival, when they were directly and
unprovokedly subjected to an initial verbal attack and then a physical
threat by a large group of helmeted men from the gang that is ravaging
universities. What the police or the rectorate did not dare to do,
namely to prevent the posting of political material, was done by these
micro-mafia. In this case, it was not considered sexist at all by the
late champions of feminism for 15 helmeted men to harass a woman. And
attempting to attribute "aggressive characteristics" to a group of 3
people carrying only a bucket and a broom for poster-sticking is
comparable only to the historical announcement of the Hellenic Armed
Forces about the famous "jartinière"...
Yesterday, 1/10, a few dozen anarchist comrades returned to the
university area to complete the distribution of our political material,
in a space where the anarchist movement has literally bled throughout
the entire period of the Post-Coalition period to achieve a certain
degree of freedom that de facto accommodates all radical forces and
voices. We again encountered some self-appointed security guards who
were videotaping our intervention, and the same group of about 15
helmeted people who, when they saw us simply sticking up posters of our
festival, quickly closed themselves in the STHE, trapping the hundreds
of students who were at the university there. They only woke up when our
group left, continuing the propaganda, making the familiar gestures and
acting like orangutans hired by the DAP-NDFK if they replaced it in the
speech and in the "arguments" that were of identical content. And the
attempt to supposedly embarrass comrades in random audiences in front of
people who are ignorant of the whole of the facts only indicates the
genome of the sad ruffianism that has now settled in these individuals.
In essence, it is completely indifferent to us. On the one hand, because
our action has always been and is open, branded and social, on the other
hand, because in the face of the ridicule, targeting, and threats that
all social activists of the anarchist movement have received from the
state itself, its Counter-Terrorism Service, and other similar bodies,
the antics of the bodyguards of statism in universities cause us even
more embarrassment.
Beyond the righteous anger that all social activists feel for the sad
but dangerous installation of these subjects within the university, we
must note that as great a task as isolating them and responding to their
invitations is, another equally important task is protecting the public
space through and within which the struggles of the future can be
reborn. And our indomitable and militant anarchism has been coming for a
long time to find an obstacle in some random acronym of a gang that
cannot find any social reference outside the microcosm of the
university, which unfortunately is now being destroyed, but at the same
time has its gaze firmly fixed on the future.
We invite all the people of the city, the youth, the workers, the
students, the progressive people to visit the 2nd libertarian festival
and participate in its political and cultural events at Xarhakou Park
(XANTH) on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3!
