No contemporary writings: not a single historian, nor any Roman or Greek
chronicler living in the first century (the era when Jesus supposedly
lived), mentions his name or his alleged miracles. Neither Philo of
Alexandria-a contemporary Jewish philosopher who specifically studied
the sects of Judea-nor any Roman scribe makes any mention of him.
Christian forgeries and interpolations: The rare references cited by
apologists in the works of Tacitus, Suetonius, or Flavius Josephus (such
as the famous *Testimonium Flavianum*) are either later additions penned
by overzealous monk-copyists or merely attest to the existence of the
'Christian' sect in the first century-not to the figure himself." A
mythological recycling: the figure of Jesus is merely a patchwork of
ancient Middle Eastern pagan myths (Mithra, Osiris, Dionysus)-virgin
birth, resurrection in the spring, the miracle of water and wine.

* Moses, Abraham, and Old Testament figures: archaeological confirmation
If history undermines Christianity, modern archaeology has effectively
shattered the foundations of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim mythologies.
Archaeological research conducted in the Near East (notably summarized
by archaeologists Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman in *The
Bible Unearthed*) confirms what freethinkers have maintained for two
centuries:
The Exodus never took place: there is no trace of hundreds of thousands
of Hebrews wandering the Sinai Desert for 40 years, nor any trace of
mass captivity in Egypt.
Moses and Abraham are legendary figures-fabricated centuries later
(around the 6th century BCE) to unify a people and legitimize royal and
priestly power in Jerusalem.
* Why expose the fraud?
For an anarchist, demonstrating the non-existence of these figures is
not merely a scholarly dispute. It is an act of public hygiene and
social liberation.
By making us believe in a celestial shepherd, religious institutions
reduce humanity to the status of a flock. By asserting that the law
comes from heaven (Moses' Tablets of the Law, Jesus' Sermon on the
Mount, or the revelations of the Quran), they prevent human beings from
freely deciding their own rules for living.
No supreme savior! Neither God, nor Caesar, nor tribune.
The emancipation of the workers and the oppressed will be the work of
the oppressed themselves, rid once and for all of heaven and its phantoms."
