SOLIDARITY WITH THE OCCUPIED REFUGEE COMMUNITY AND THE HUNGER STRIKE
ARISTOTELIS HANTZI ---- We are going through a fairly extensive period
in which the imposition of modern totalitarianism in the interior and
western societies now seems to have occurred in all aspects of social
life. We are gradually observing the escalation of state terrorism: the
rise of fascism/Nazism, the concentration camps of immigrants and their
increasing murders at the borders, the total devaluation of the lives of
workers, the dismantling of public health and education, laws
restricting demonstrations and strikes, the control of life in
universities, feminicides, the cover-up of trafficking and child rape
rings, the murders in Tempe and the cover-up of this state crime. It is
now obvious that the state capitalist system has nothing else to promise
besides poverty, misery and death! And if the last guarantee of the
state-capitalist system, at least for the societies of the Western
world, was the non-war situation, this promise can no longer be
fulfilled as, on a global level, states are now arming themselves for
war and conflict and at the same time are shielding themselves against
those they call "internal enemies", that is, those who do not remain
silent, do not consent, do not bow their heads - on the contrary, they
continue to fight for freedom, for equality and life, they continue to
fight for humanity!
The peak of the state's repressive action is the attack on the occupied
areas and the anarchist movement. The current government, continuing and
upgrading the work of all the previous ones, initially set out its
intentions with the Chrysochoidis ultimatum for the attack on all the
occupied areas. When it realized that the strategy of a unified attack
produced much more unity than it feared, it abandoned it, changed the
head of the Ministry of Repression and engaged in gradual strikes across
the territory. The squats are part of the struggle, the ground where the
plans of the social and class counterattack are prepared and for this
reason they must be struck, in the context of the "preventive
counter-insurgency" so that they do not find social accesses and do not
come into osmosis with the swelling anger of the plebeian masses,
especially in a period when the projects of the anarchist struggle are
the only ones that can provide an answer to the barbaric reality we are
experiencing. The Occupied Refugee Community has recently been the
target of state repression through a new contract which defines the
specific buildings as available for exploitation and stipulates their
immediate evacuation.
We are here to remind them again that our struggles have nothing to
fear. The "ultimatums" are burning in the streets and the attacks of the
uniformed scum who invade the Houses of Struggle in the darkness of the
night will be met with reconquests, reconstructions and mass clashes,
under the light of day. The anarchist movement was born through
relationships of mutual social assistance, developed and inspired with
the weapon of solidarity and this remains its ideal and orientation for
the society it envisions, for the world that will contain all worlds
within it.
