The UCL Summer Days took place from July 28 to August 2. A highlight for 
the federation, combining political building and camaraderie. Around 140 
activists, sympathizers, and international members from UCL sister 
organizations pitched their tents in the hamlet of Bécours in early 
August for the 5th edition of the Libertarian Communist Summer Days. 
This year, for the first time, we decided on a central theme for the 
week's discussions and workshops: anti-imperialism. The organization's 
committees were able to offer numerous workshops, supplemented by 
external presentations, allowing us to compare our own experiences and 
reflections with those of comrades active in the same struggles.

The Internal Relations Committee also organized opportunities for 
discussion and collective feedback on UCL's activities to better 
coordinate the numerous local groups that make up the federation and 
prepare for the start of the new academic year.

A packed program awaited the participants under the Aveyron sun. In 
addition to political discussions, there were sporting and social 
activities, practical workshops, activist training sessions, French or 
English boxing and yoga in the mornings, activist choirs and a dance 
party in the evenings, and swimming outings in the region's magnificent 
rivers and lakes enough to make for a memorable week.

As the Summer Days are also a time for experimenting with 
self-management, daily tasks, from preparing meals to maintaining the 
camp and washing up, were everyone's responsibility. Committees were 
formed to organize daily life, and each participant signed up on a task 
chart throughout the week. As every year, we were able to benefit from 
the advice and support of the Scouts and Guides of France, a secular 
scouting association that owns the venue and is familiar with 
self-management practices.

While the adults used this week for training and networking, the 
children were not left out and participated throughout the week in the 
life of the group and in numerous activities organized by a team of 
leaders. At the end of the week, they presented a mural of the Summer 
Days to all the participants and inaugurated the first libertarian and 
anti-fascist communist space program, whose first rocket launches were 
carried out to the applause of the audience.

The Summer Days are always an important event in the life of our 
organization, an opportunity to meet our comrades from all over France 
and beyond, to strengthen the cohesion of the federation, and of course, 
to spend a wonderful week filling us with energy to continue the 
struggle. A huge thank you to all the participants, to the classmates 
who organized the week, and to the Scouts and Guides for making it such 
a success. We hope to see you all again next year!
