(en) Germany, Glitzerkatapult: Fri., May 3rd, 2024: Lecture "Mutual Aid in Times of Crisis" in Leipzig at the Anarchist Days (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]
Date
Fri, 17 May 2024 09:15:36 +0300
We are in Leipzig at the Anarchist Days and are giving our lecture
"Mutual Aid in Times of Crisis". ---- It will take place in zxrx
(Connewitz) on May 3rd from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ---- What it's about:
---- "Solidarity not Charity" was the slogan of the Common Ground
Collective, an anarchist organization that practiced direct mutual aid
in New Orleans (USA) after Hurricane Katrina. Many other anarchists have
followed this example of boundless solidarity and have stood by people
in and after crisis situations. The lecture aims to explain the concept
of mutual aid, show how self-organization can work beyond states and go
into some practical examples from recent years. In addition, current
cases of anarchist/anarchist-influenced mutual aid, e.g. in times of
pandemics, will be discussed, as well as various forms of organization
such as Food Not Bombs. The lecture thus aims to show the possibilities
and opportunities of anarchist, mutual aid and self-organization and how
this can also work in crises.
We look forward to you coming along and discussing with us at the end.
See you at the Anarchist Days Leipzig...
