Given the immobility of the rector's team, teaching and research staff 
will go on strike on Wednesday. ---- On October 11, 2023, a strike was 
held at the UPV/EHU, with the aim of stopping and reversing the 
precariousness of the working conditions of the teaching and research 
staff (PDI) of the UPV/EHU. After stopping all teaching activities, the 
Rectorate of the UPV/EHU has not changed its attitude towards the 
demands made. ---- That is why, given the call for a strike for this 
March 6, the UPV/EHU workers affiliated with CNT call to support it, 
remembering what are the specific demands made by the collective:
o For substitute teachers:
o That substitutions for full-time positions are not offered on a 
part-time basis, recognizing and paying only for the teaching part, but 
rather are offered on a full-time basis.
o That the rest of the activities of part-time teachers (class 
preparation, management/coordination tasks and research related to the 
subject) be recognized and remunerated and Decree 41/2008 be modified 
for salary adaptation.
o Over teaching load:
o That the teaching load does not increase. Maintenance of credits and 
incorporation of all PDI groups in the PDA seeking balance between them.
o Adequate provision of departments. Expansion of templates that allow 
reducing the number of students per group to safely address the 
implementation of active methodologies in the classroom.
o Stop bureaucratization.
o Regarding purchasing power:
o Increase in wages to recover lost purchasing power.
o No to discrimination in additional complements, five-year periods and 
six-year periods.
o Update of additional remuneration supplements.
o About UPV/EHU financing:
o Increase in public financing to reach 1% of the GDP of the Basque Country.
o Preferably allocate these economic resources to personnel. That 
specific plans such as "relay contracts" be established that
  facilitate the generational change.
o Increase and rejuvenation of the UPV/EHU staff.

At CNT we understand that the workers of the UPV/EHU have been in a 
critical situation for years, that with the new Organic Law of the 
University System (LOSU) it is going to worsen, and that this worsening 
is not going to only affect the most precarious, but it is already 
affecting the entire PDI, as well as the students and the quality of the 
training they receive, and it calls into question the public university 
model that we want.

For this reason, the UPV/EHU workers affiliated with CNT will 
participate in the mobilizations and the strike, in addition to calling 
on the rest of the staff to support it.
