(en) Germany, Die Platform: Four years after Hanau: Remember the victims and fight racism! (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Four years ago today, a right-wing terrorist murdered nine people in
Hanau for racist motives. ---- To this day, structural failure,
deliberate inaction and further stigmatization of those affected by the
state authorities characterize the inadequate processing of the attack.
Those affected and their relatives are still waiting for a complete
explanation, justice for those murdered and consequences for those
responsible. And because the state has no interest in any of this, they
and many people who show solidarity are still fighting for it today.
Through educational work and commemoration, they break through the
forgetting and cover-up of institutional complicity in the crime. We
declare our solidarity with the families of the murdered and everyone
who courageously continues to fight for truth and justice.
The last four years have proven more than once that the murders in Hanau
are not an isolated case, but part of a social relationship of racist
oppression. Racism is state policy with the sealing of European borders,
a stricter deportation regime and discriminatory police operations.
Racism is part of everyday life at work with assignments to precarious
work, rejection of applications, and attacks from bosses. Racism is a
reality in the housing market with the impossibility of finding a place
to stay with the "wrong" name. Racism takes place on the streets with
discriminatory insults and attacks. Racism is violence - sometimes
verbal, mostly psychological and all too often physical and sometimes
even fatal. Like in Hanau, Dessau, Rostock, Mölln, Lichtenhagen,
Hoyerswerda and so many more places.
Without overcoming systemic racism, this violence will not end. Then
truth and justice can only be demands but never reality. Let us fight
together against racism at all levels of society. Let us stand in
solidarity with those affected. Let us counter racism with anti-racist
self-organization. And the right-wing terror of anti-fascist
self-protection.
