Argentina Autonomista Summer Abroad
 The University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the Argentina Autonomist
Project and the Institute for Social Ecology are pleased to announc
this opportunity to participate in a five-week intersession
travel study to Argentina. Students earn 8 credits through
a combination of faculty facilitated language and cultural
immersion experiences, assigned readings, classroom presentations,
visits to historical and cultural sites and institutions, as well
as visits to sites of popular movement activity including worker-recovered
factories where students will internship during four week
 Students will develop Spanish language skills and critical thinkin
through an active appreciation of Argentina's unique culture and his
tory. They learn about the origins and character of Argentina's eco
nomic development and crisis--the economic development impose
from above as well as the economic innovation reclaimed from below

 The Earth First! Round River
 Rendezvous (RRR) is the annual
 week-long wilderness gathering o
 hundreds of folks from around th
 world dedicated to taking action
 to protect the Earth. This year
 marks the 25th anniversary of the
Round River Rendezvous. The gathering is named for Aldo Leopold'
"Round River" metaphor expressing the ecological interdependence
of living systems.
 The RRR is coordinated by a local volunteer committee and in-
cludes workshops, campaign discussions, campfire music and a rally
with performers and speakers. Perhaps the most important part of
the RRR is the informal networking that goes on. At the end of each
RRR, attendees can choose to participate in fun-filled actions sup-
porting local issues.
 The 2005 Earth First! Round River Rendezvous will be held on
Wy'East (Mt. Hood) in the breathtaking snow-capped Cascadian
mountains. Join us for hikes, stimulating workshops, rowdy rallies,
campfires (weather permitting), unique stage performances, games,
ecodefense trainings, strategizin', unusual behavior, tribal meetings,
bad dancing (and some good), lots of music, swimming, ale swilling,
plotting the demise of the US government, and just plain fun!

 Roadless Summer Against
 the I-69 "Super Highway"
 Indiana, Summer 2005
 North America's economic planners
have re-prioritized the construction of I-
69, the NAFTA superhighway. Connect-
ing Canada, the United States, and Mex-
ico, the highway would serve to increase
the flow of goods complicit with the expan-
sion of "free" trade. The effects of this highway
are both local and global.
 I-69 will directly connect to the highways of
the Plan Puebla Panama. In Indiana, thou-
sands of acres of protected national and state
forest will be cut down to make way for the
highway. Hundreds of acres of irreplaceable
wetlands will be drained and bulldozed. The
construction of this highway will evict over
150 families from their homes and the destroy
farms that they have worked for generations.
All of this wreckage will be wrought so that
multinational corporations can save 4,500
trucking hours each day as they transpor-
goods through- and jobs out- of Indiana.
 We will defend our communities.
 In solidarity with Indiana's farmer-led resist-
ance, which has delayed this highway for more
than a decade, we will strike a blow against
"free" trade. Roadless Summer WILL stop the
construction of I-69.
 A network is in place in Indiana to support
the struggle that is going to take place from
May through August 2005 and beyond. We
need people to join us in this fight, people
who will support a wide range of actions with
their energy, ideas and commitment.
 I-69 is one integral link in a global chain
of exploitation. By breaking this link,
we take one definitive step toward the
destruction of the chain.

MOUNTAIN JUSTICE SUMMER

 Mountain Justice Summer is a coalition of
grassoots environmental and cultural organi-
zations. This summer a mass mobilization
of people from all walks of life will gather in
the Southern Appalachian mountains to help
stop mountaintop removal dead in it's tracks.
 Mountaintop Removal, more aptly called
"mountain range removal" is a coal mining
practice where millions of punds of dynamite
are used to blow off the "tops" of mountains
(several hundreds of feet), to get to a thin
seem of coal buried within. The overfill, or
what used to be the mountain, is plowed into
surrounding valleys, covering rivers and stre-
ambeads, leaving them completely destroyed.
The effects of this destructive practice are far
reaching and short cited.
 Beyond forever leveling the most biodiverse
mountains in the country, the rivers and wa-
tersheds of the coalfields become poisonous
and undrinkable. The barren wastelands left
behind will never reforest, and will create the
constant threat of dangerous mudslides to the
people below.
MTR is not only killing the land but also
destroying the culture of Appalachia, whole
towns have been bought out and demolished
by greedy coal companies. Hundreds of peo-
ple have died in sludge dam floods that are
directly linked to mountaintop removal.
According to many Appalachians, the coal
companies are trying to depopulate the area
to conceal what's happening to the land.
 Mountain Justice Summer is a direct action
based campaign to completely abolish this
horrendous practice. We are an above ground
organization and do not endorse any forms of
underground activity under the name of MJS.
Volunteers will preform a variety of tasks,
based on their personal interests and skills,
including: soil and water testing, civil disobi-
dience, direct action, geological testing, plant
identifications, and much more.

 LAND, DECOLONIZATION
 AND SELF-DETERMINATION
 A conference to confront Canadian colonialism and strengthen movements
 for self-determination: May 13-15, 2005
 MONTREAL, OCCUPIED KANIEN'KEHA:KA TERRITORY
 The `Canadian' government, in its propaganda and legislation, has perpetu-
ated the idea that decolonization means taking Indigenous Peoples out from
under the yolk of the Indian Act by making them Canadians and allowing
delegated governance.
 This conference will expose the `Canadian' government's current legislative
drive as nothing more than an attempt to complete the colonial project, and
acquire legal access to remaining Indigenous lands and resources in order
to successfully compete in the global economy. Participants will learn what
decolonization means from the perspective of Indigenous and other self-de-
termining communities. We will learn of the many strategies employed past
and present - legal, political, social and cultural - by Indigenous and other op-
pressed peoples in their fight against `Canadian' colonialism.
 Our vision of decolonization at this conference includes deepening our analy-
sis of the various ways in which colonization manifests itself. We encourage
the participation of people active in diverse social justice movements so that
we can collectively strategize; we include movements that address occupations
in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Haiti and elsewhere; the attacks on the rights
of immigrants and refugees; the Prison Industrial Complex; the `war on drugs,'
the `war on terrorism,' reparations campaigns; anti-racist, anti-patriarchy and
queer liberation movements; capitalist globalization, police harassment and
brutality, attacks on the poor; and more.
 We aim to demystify the process of decolonization in the `Canadian' state.
The conference will bring together those at the forefront of self-determination
struggles, and organizers and activists participating in solidarity work across
Turtle Island (ie. occupied North America).
 This conference will strategize ways to dismantle the colonial `Canadian' state,
break down the walls of Fortress North America, and forge links of resist-
ance.
 Let us share information, advance dialogue and fight together.

 The Born in Flames Conference
 JUNE 24 TO 26 - PORTLAND OREGON
 Two years ago, a new surge of community organizing in Portland rose to confront
sexist behavior and issues surrounding sexual assault. Meet-
ings, debates, actions,grass roots organizing, and collectives
formed to create discussion about these sensitive topics, and
support survivors of sexual assault while holding perpetra-
tors accountable. The energy and work of dedicated people
continues to create safer spaces for survivors and communi-
ties to comfortably and safely attend and participate in pub-
lic events, shows and daily activities. Safer spaces are vital to
survivors' lives and healthy intentional communities.
 However, there is still a long way to go. A great need still
exists in the entire progressive community for dialogue
and action regarding issues of sexual assault. With all this
energy culminating and visions forming for the road ahead
a conference was born. We are a group of people from various left/radical/activist
communities that are putting together a 3-day conference called Born In Flames.The
Born in Flames Conference will provide a time and place to share ideas, experience
and education, and to raise awareness through workshops, discussions and speakers.
This conference aims to empower and emphasize the voices of survivors and their
allies within a safer space.
 Born In Flames is a 3-day conference addressing sexual assault from a radical per-
spective and addressing the unique needs our communities have. We will focus on
education, support and accountability. We would like people from all over to come
and share their ideas and experiences.

 Challenging Racism
 Summer Workshop Series for
 White Activists
 June 6 - August 15, 2005 (Mondays, 6pm-8pm) New Paltz, NY
 Challenging Racism is a ten-week long workshop series designed for white activ-
ists in the Hudson Valley. The purpose of the workshop is three-pronged: To offer
an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of racism and white
privilege, to equip participants to effectively communicate an anti-racist perspective
and to interrupt the racism we encounter in our lives and communities, to create a
network of white activists committed to racial and economic justice in our region.
 From June 6th through August 15th, participants will meet for two hours each Mon-
day evening to strengthen an analysis of institutional racism and white privilege, to
develop practical skills for resisting racism, and to find support among fellow white
activists working to challenge racism.
 Enrollment Fee: $150-$250, sliding scale (no one will be turned away for lack of
