The Confédération Nationale du Travail wishes to express its sympathy to the
friends and family of Sébastien Briat who was killed on Sunday 7th November
during an action against the transportation of nuclear waste. Sébastien, and
anti-nuclear militant, was heavily involved in the setting up of a study group
in the CNT-Education union branch in Nancy. It is with great sadness that we
salute the memory of one of our young militants. Despite the circumstances, the
CNT denounces the systematic, common-place transport of dangerous materials,
the reason why the militants (among whom Sebastien) had organized the action of
blocking the nuclear train.

The CNT denounces the safety conditions of the convoy, together with the
obstinacy of governments in continuing the use of nuclear power.

In memory of cour comrade, the CNT joins in the appeal by the "Réseau "Sortir
du Nucléaire" for demonstrations to be held in front of train stations on
Wednesday 10 November at 6.00pm
