In the Western press, paid and subservient to a narrative of the war in
Ukraine, guided by the intelligence services of various Atlantic bloc
states, there are rumors of a Ukrainian counteroffensive, while some
accredited military and geopolitical strategy analysts, aware of the
factual inconsistency of a Ukrainian counteroffensive, shift their
attention to the drone and missile strikes on Moscow, which would expose
Russia's vulnerability . They are careful not to report the situation on
the battlefield, or Kostyantynivka and Liman, which have now fallen.
They follow the lead of Deep State, the Ukrainian mapper who admitted
the fall of Potrovsk after two months and has now been ordered to stop
updating the situation on the maps. Reality is too harsh to admit. It
can only widen the disputed areas of the front to highlight some resistance.
With the loss of these two cities, strategically essential to the
defense of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, the Russian assault on the last
Ukrainian strongholds in Donbass begins. Paid analysts fail to note that
the Ukrainian army on the battlefield is collapsing: the number of
Colombian and other mercenaries is growing (the EU is paying for it),
and those forcibly conscripted are unable to fill the ever-widening
gaps; the number of deaths, desertions, and prisoners is rising. The
so-called contested territory appears to be growing, but this is because
the fronts have collapsed, and trench and positional warfare has given
way to infiltration by small groups, sometimes numbering less than a
platoon-a tactic primarily chosen by the Russians, who, faced with and
evading drone attacks, have thinned out the concentration of troops
across the territory, wanting to minimize losses, and the Ukrainians
have done the same.
To continue their impact, the Russians have a greater volume of
firepower and strike Ukrainian positions, rear areas, and urban areas
with glide bombs and FABs. The adoption of these tactics means that the
possession of a territory can be challenged at any time, while the
capture of a city, transformed into a logistics hub, remains in the
control of its conqueror. Thus, the front, albeit slowly, advances and
the Ukrainian army is depleted. The Russians target elite corps, the
Azov Army Corps, and nationalist regiments such as the Scala or the
Waffen SS, hoping and working to leave as few of them alive as possible.
In the coming months, the last two cities in Donbass will suffer a
bloody Russian assault, recalling the repression of citizens and the
massacre of civilians who rebelled against the central government in
2014. The cities were occupied after brutal shelling by the rebel
population. If what is happening on the battlefield is indicative of a
trend, it is likely that if Ukrainian resistance in the two cities is
weaker than it has been in other circumstances, it will be because the
Ukrainian army is tired and is finding it increasingly difficult to
cover all fronts.
Appetite comes with eating
If the last two cities in Donbass fall, does this mean the war will be
over and that Russia, tired of what is happening, will be able to
declare itself victorious and be willing to cease hostilities? Those who
think this have little understanding of the conflict, failing to realize
that achieving the political objectives of Ukraine's non-membership in
NATO and defusing the possibility of being attacked from Ukrainian
territory for many years to come is vital for Russia.
Consequently, in the event of peace negotiations, it will be important
to understand Ukraine's international standing, the size of its army,
the absence of foreign bases and armies, as well as implementing what
Putin calls the denazification of the country, obtaining full permission
for the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church to practice its worship.
Therefore, either Ukraine surrenders and enters into peace negotiations,
or the war will continue, not only until Zaporizhia is militarily
conquered, but also Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and the Sumy region, not
excluding a final thought for Odessa, which can only be conquered if the
Ukrainian army collapses. It is worth remembering that these are
territories inhabited by Russian-speaking people, and the higher the
price Russia pays in fighting, the greater Russia's demands become.
Russia wants the nationalists to be removed from the government and
plans to wear them down to allow the formation of at least a neutral
government in Kiev. To do this, it needs time, as it does not want an
institutional vacuum in the Ukrainian capital.
What Western governments have failed to grasp is that Russia considers
defusing the Ukrainian threat a priority, and that this objective, and
its achievement, is essential to its security and existence. It knows it
has time, and it waits for the Ukrainian fruit to rot, while it severs
its roots. It is aware that, considering the composition, current size,
and age of the Ukrainian population, by the end of the century, even
with its borders unchanged as of June 21, 2026, the population will be
no more than 9 million, due to the inevitable demographic decline.
Faced with this prospect, some believe that while Ukrainians die, time
passes, giving European countries the opportunity to arm themselves and
go to war, meanwhile boiling Russia like a frog in a war of attrition
until the last Ukrainian is dead: a bleak prospect for the Ukrainians.
He is confident that the tide is turning in European countries for
Ukraine, and that the prospect of the country's accession to the
European Union is fueling increasing resistance and opposition from all
partners, some more than others. This is not only due to the inadequacy
and incompatibility of Ukraine's legal system with the EU, but above all
because, by joining the EU, Ukraine would absorb, as a first
consequence, the vast majority of funding from the EU's agricultural
policy, thus undermining the very foundations of the European Union,
which is based on this policy. European citizens are increasingly tired
of having to foot the bills of those who use the funds they receive to
adorn their palaces with gold toilets and profit from the weapons they
receive to sell to fomenters of war around the world.
The time has come to put an end to both the massacre of the Ukrainian
people and the exploitation by their rulers of the funds stolen from the
peoples of the West, with which they equip themselves with princely
residences and immense patrimonies, speculating on the loss of the lives
of their compatriots and preparing the virtual extinction of the
Ukrainian population through the desertification of the country.
