Mobilizations, militancy and strategic organizations. ---- This school
year in Catalonia - and also in Valencia - has not been a bed of roses
for our class. The conflict has not stopped escalating. In addition to
the exhaustion of the workforce, forced to endure unbearable conditions,
there has been the entrenchment (not to say encroachment) of the
administrations. These conditions have been the perfect breeding ground
for the workforce, families and the rest of the sector's agents to join
forces against an employer group that believed it had them divided, and
that, therefore, could afford to do and undo without any opposition.
Covert cuts, overflowing ratios, structural precariousness and an
administration that wants to negotiate separately, in closed-door
meetings and segmenting the workforce.
In the middle of this storm, the class unions have once again stood up.
And among them is Laura Gené, general secretary of CGT Ensenyament
(Catalonia), who has been on the front lines of the mobilizations. In
this new installment of the RegeneracionLibertaria.org podcast, an Embat
activist speaks one-on-one with her colleague - and collaborator of the
Organization - to try to grasp the radish by the leaves in the sector:
the strikes, the mobilizations, the center assemblies, the relationships
between the different agents, and this militancy that learns and is
formed in the conflict. The hard moments and the small victories that
make us move forward in this new cycle of mobilizations.
