The anniversary of the liberation from Nazi-fascism has always been
fraught with patriotism, nationalism, outdated mythologies, and the
musealization of memory and exploitation. It's an opportunity for
fascists in government to clear their faces, and for politicians of all
political persuasions to play the macabre game of pacification and
national conciliation. Yet it's a date we face. Because it's also a
moment when we feel the urge to further assert our anti-fascism, to
challenge hypocrisy, and to bear witness to what we think, say, and try
to do every day. Because anti-fascism must be practiced every day.
We invite all anti-fascists to bring their readings, voices, and
testimonies on Saturday, April 25th, in Piazza della Borsa from 10:00 a.m.
