Toronto Public Forum with Sam Day, Coordinator of the U.S.A. Campaign To Free Mordechai Vanunu
Sam is a writer, peace activist, political organize. He is former editor of "The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists"(1974-77) and managing editor of The Progressive" (1978-80), and has combined reporting with activism in a career that has frequently landed him in court for challenging U.S. nuclear weapons policies. Sam lost most of his eyesight in 1991 from a stroke to the optic nerve while jailed during the Persian Gulf War but has remained active.

Mordechai Vanunu is a former nuclear technician now serving 18 years in solitary confinement in an Israeli prison for telling a British newspaper about Israel's secret nuclear weapons program. September 30th, 1998 marked 12 years of imprisonment for Vanunu.
