National Day of Demonstrations to Protest U.S. Threats Against Iraq
End the Sanctions Now!
New York City Action at Times Square Recruiting Center, Monday, November 17, 5:00 p.m.
The International Action Center is calling for national demonstrations to protest any new military action against Iraq. The demonstration will also call for the immediate lifting of U.S./UN sanctions against Iraq. In New York City a demonstration has been called for Monday, November 17 in front of the Times Square recruiting center at 43rd Street and Broadway.
"The U.S. is already using weapons of mass destruction against Iraq," said Sara Flounders of the International Action Center. "The U.S./UN economic sanctions have killed almost 1.4 million people. We oppose any new attack against Iraq."
Demonstrations have been set for various cities including San Francisco and Boston.
The International Action Center has led numerous delegations to Iraq documenting the devastating effect of economic sanctions. An IAC team has just returned a country-wide inspection of Iraq.
