ANTI RAPE-PROPAGANDA DEMONSTRATION IN STOCKHOLM
Today, despite quite cold temperatures, 500 anarcha-feminists, anarchists and radicals demonstrated in central Stockholm against the "rape-propaganda" that is permiating todays Swedish society. The slogans of the day were "Fight back", "Close the brothels", "no pronographic advertising" and "stop the rape-propaganda." The anger of the rather large gathering was specifically directed towards one brothel and one highly priced "pronographic club" which were on the demonstrations route during its march through the city. Inciting speeches were held outside of both places and the police kept a relativly low profile despite a near stand-off outside of the second club. In a situation of possible confrontation, the police drew back in fear of a mely in sight of many Saturday shoppers. Large reserve police forces were observed in the vicinity of the demonstration but were kept out of immediate sight.
