(en) Brazil, Capixaba - FACA: Beyond the State and Capital: The Urgency of Whole Dreams! (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Comrades, we anarchists raise our voices against the tyranny of all
masters and against the mediocrity of all partial revolutions. With all
our impetus, we reject the vain promise of Marxists, Leninists,
statists, capitalists, etc., who offer us mere crumbs of emancipation in
exchange for our submission to a new master: the State. Whether in the
bureaucratic version of the "dictatorship of the proletariat" or in the
reformist fallacy of regulated capitalism, they all preach the same
heresy: that freedom can be administered, parceled out, and distributed
by a central power. We tear up this contract of slavery! We do not want
the partial dreams of these traffickers of illusions. WE WANT WHOLE DREAMS!
These "partial dreams" are a perverse trap. The Marxist-Leninists
promise a communist future, but their method is the conquest of the
state apparatus, the creation of a new class of bureaucrats, and the
perpetuation of the logic of power. They exchange the private boss for
the state boss, capitalist exploitation for state exploitation. Their
dream is an authoritarian nightmare, where individual freedom is crushed
in the name of a collective forged by coercion. The State, in whatever
form it presents itself, is the enemy of self-management and free
association. It is the negation of social revolution, for it replaces
the direct initiative of the people with the decree of a minority that
considers itself enlightened.
In the same way, capitalism, in its most savage phase or in its
social-democratic mask, only offers us the partial dream of the
consumer. It sells us the illusion of freedom through the possession of
commodities, while it steals from us real autonomy over our lives and
our work. Its "dream" is a nightmare of alienation, where we become
appendages of the production machine and consumers of our own misery.
Capital and the State are the two sides of the same oppressive coin; one
cannot exist without the other. The State guarantees the private
property of the means of production and the social hierarchy, while
capital sustains the economic power that feeds the state apparatus.
Therefore, our struggle is not for a "better" State or for a "more just"
capitalism. Our struggle is for the pure and simple abolition of both!
WE WANT WHOLE DREAMS: dreams of a society where self-management is the
organizing principle from the bottom up; where free communities federate
voluntarily; where work is a creative activity and not a condemnation;
and where solidarity replaces competition. We want the materialization
of a new world, where every individual is master of their own destiny,
cooperating freely with their equals, without the oppressive shadow of
governments, police, armies, or bosses.
The path to this world does not pass through the State's ballot boxes or
the seizure of its palace. It passes through direct action, through
horizontal organization, through mutual aid, and through building here
and now, within the bowels of the old society, the embryos of the new
world. It is in the wildcat strike, in the autonomous commune, in the
production collective, in the occupation, and in every form of
resistance that we deny power and affirm life. We do not ask for
permission to be free. We take our freedom with our own hands. To us,
anarchists, falls the glorious task of dreaming the impossible to
conquer the real: a world without a State and without capital. To
action, then! For the social revolution and for total freedom.
Liberto Herrera.
