an explosive device exploded in an apartment in Ampelokipi, the 
anarchist activist Kyriaco Xymitiris lost his life and the anarchist 
activist Marianna Manoura was seriously injured. Marianna, seriously 
injured, is transferred to the Evangelismos hospital, where she is kept 
under guard, while after the second operation she underwent and without 
having fully recovered, she is taken to Korydallos prison. From the 
first hours of her transfer to Evangelismos, the repressive staff, while 
she was unconscious, take her fingerprints and order a blood sample for 
DNA analysis without her consent, while the investigating authorities 
try to extract an apology from her. Despite the fact that she needs 
hospitalization, she is still being held in Korydallos detention center, 
with the competent authorities on the one hand depriving her of the 
necessary medical care and diagnostic tests and on the other hand 
keeping her locked up under miserable and unsuitable living conditions.
In the days following the explosion in Ampelokipi, the activists Nikos 
Romanos, Dimitris P. and Dimitra Zarafeta and A. K. were arrested and 
remanded in custody on completely flimsy charges, amidst a climate of 
terror hysteria and the circulation of police scenarios by the media 
mouthpieces of power, in continuation of the state's effort to fabricate 
perpetrators with false evidence and to lead activists to their 
imprisonment and neutralization from the field of social and class 
struggle. In September 2025, the remanded activists were taken to 
Evelpidon for the supplementary procedure at the interrogation stage, 
with the judicial authorities extending their pre-trial detention.
During the 6 and a half years of the far-right-neoliberal management of 
the state by New Democracy and despite the decline of resistance, 
anarchists continued and intensified their participation in all fronts 
of social and class struggles. Through their participation, they were 
confronted with the harshest aspect of the repression that was imposed 
on every field of struggle, both in the context of the overall and 
broader repressive attack against the large social majority and its 
struggling parts, and more specifically in the repressive operation that 
targeted and continues to target the anarchist movement, both in 
material terms in the streets and structures of the movement and 
ideologically with its slander by the dominant propaganda. The 
"anti-"terrorist campaign against the anarchist struggle also falls 
within this special context and aims to criminalize and desocialize it, 
through fear, slander, isolation and weakening. This special repressive 
targeting of the state concerns the anarchist movement as it was through 
it that, primarily, the extra-institutional, radical and unmediated 
social resistances were expressed throughout the entire post-political 
period, with the leading example being the social uprising of December.
The Ampelokipi affair, beyond the tragic event of the loss of the 
anarchist activist Kyriakos Xymitiris, the pre-trial detention of 5 
other activists and the intensification of surveillance and control over 
the anarchist movement and its structures, highlights a series of 
aspects of the state's special repressive campaign against anarchists. 
It was not a move to disorient both society and its struggling parties, 
as the left easily claims, along with a narrative that sees anarchist 
fighters not as recipients of state repression due to their political 
analysis, position and action, but as easy victims of government 
policies and associations that are the target of repressive forces 
whenever this serves the government narrative, removing every political 
sign of the anarchist movement and presenting it as a fragmented, 
spontaneous and childish outburst against existing injustice and which 
cannot defend itself on its own but needs political guardians. The 
repressive campaign against the anarchist movement is a permanent and 
declared position of the state, especially after the 2008 uprising, and 
this is precisely due to the fact that anarchists continue to constitute 
the most radical part of the strugglers and fight with all their might 
not only capitalism but also the state, without access, without 
mediation, without representation within the political system of power 
and consensus within it, a fact that makes the anarchist movement 
dangerous and uncontrollable. Propaganda, legislative and repressive 
"anti" terrorist methods do not constitute a momentary deviation from 
the hierarchical, oppressive and exploitative democracy of the state and 
the bosses, just as the slander of social struggles that were not 
incorporated into the regime does not only concern individual choices of 
struggle or the "dislocation" of an armed organization, but aims at the 
total repudiation of collective political and social anti-violence and 
the criminalization of any form of resistance that is not mediated by 
institutions, through the "hunt for terrorism" and its "communicating 
vessels".
The rulers today are attempting to erase the imprints of entire decades 
of harsh social and class struggles because they function as social 
examples of resistance that survive and reproduce, because they continue 
to inspire new generations and show paths of struggle to the oppressed 
today, because they keep alive the prospect of social emancipation and 
liberation. The unhindered deepening of anti-social and violent 
restructurings, for radical social transformation, has as a prerequisite 
both the crushing of social and class struggles as a whole and 
especially the complete neutralization of the most consciously 
dissenting and radical part of the fighters, which sets as its horizon 
the destruction of the exploitative and oppressive state structure and 
the creation of a society of equality, solidarity and freedom.
Against the state-sponsored terrorist operation that seeks to target 
activists, against the criminalization of friendly and comradely 
relations, against police arbitrariness and violence, we declare that 
the only terrorists are the state and capital, the system of power that 
plunders and condemns the vast social majority to poverty and 
impoverishment, that establishes an occupying police army in the cities 
in every field of social activity, that murders in police stations and 
blockades, on trains, in hospitals with the dissolution of the National 
Health System, on the land and water borders of Europe - fortress, in 
the prisons of wage slavery, that fiercely attacks the anarchist 
movement, its structures and the social and class resistances that 
develop within schools, colleges, workplaces and neighborhoods, that 
supports the genocide of the Palestinian people. people and deepens its 
involvement in the war machine, which rewards fascist gangs and 
nationalism, which suppresses those who struggle for life and freedom 
and reserves for the oppressed plebeians only an unlivable world of 
exploitation and oppression.
