Published in: Featured, International, Anarchist Opinion ---- Solidarity with the peoples in struggle! ---- In recent weeks, we have seen a growing wave of popular mobilizations in Latin America and beyond, demonstrating the strength of organized peoples in the face of policies of austerity, repression, and inequality. ---- In Peru, social movements have taken to the streets to protest the pension system, as well as to express their rejection of the policies and authoritarianism of Dina Boluarte; while in Ecuador, protests by indigenous and social movements against rising fuel prices are multiplying. Mexico has also been the scene of massive demonstrations, either to demand the release of political prisoners or to denounce the government's lack of response 11 years after the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students. In Paraguay, peasants, students, and workers have organized days of protest against the lack of public services and the corruption of President Santiago Peña Nieto's government. In Brazil, popular mobilizations prevented the passage of a constitutional amendment intended to protect professional politicians from prosecution without legislative approval. In Argentina, mobilizations against the reactionary liberal Milei have intensified, successfully preventing his political party from holding rallies in Tierra del Fuego, Rosario, Corrientes, and various towns in the Province of Buenos Aires. In Uruguay, mobilizations are taking place amid the vote on the national budget, which allocates a large portion to repression and minimal funds to social policies. At the same time, demonstrations against the Palestinian genocide and repudiating the government's lukewarm stance continue one after another. In Chile, on the eve of the presidential election, where most programs aim to deepen neoliberal policies, an authoritarian and repressive democracy continues to be strengthened, with the popular movement incapable of raising an alternative that would strengthen popular power. Added to this is the news that Julia Chuñil, missing since December of last year, was burned to death by landowners on the land she so fiercely defended, according to leaks from the prosecutor's office, which the state and the justice system have ignored.

Unsurprisingly, we saw that in several countries the state response has included arrests, threats, use of force, judicial persecution, and even military intervention, as in the case of Ecuador. And if we talk about the state's disproportionate responses to legitimate popular mobilizations, it is important to denounce the hijacking of the Global Samud Flotilla by the State of Israel. This action adds to the genocidal stance of Israel and its war machine against Palestine and, at the same time, constituted a direct attack on internationalist solidarity and the defense of the rights of the Palestinian people.

The spirit of resistance is spreading to other regions of the world: a few days ago, demonstrations in Indonesia and Nepal took to the streets of Manila, demonstrating against policies of precarious employment, demonstrating in the spirit of social unrest. In the Philippines, as people survived the September floods, large demonstrations took place in the streets of Manila to denounce government corruption in the use of resources that should have been allocated to flood control. In France, Spain, and Italy, thousands of people took to the streets to show solidarity with Palestine and demand an end to the occupation and genocide. In Morocco, the demonstrations, mostly made up of young people, demand better education and healthcare and denounce corruption, following the death of eight pregnant women in a public hospital, which exposed the system's shortcomings. In Madagascar, the imprisonment of people protesting against water and electricity cuts in the country's capital worsened the political and social crisis, bringing young people to the streets, vowing not to stop until the current government falls.

These mobilizations show us the people's determination to organize and demand their rights. They are evidence that popular struggle in the streets remains a fundamental tool for protests and gains by those from below.

We anarchists stand in solidarity with these struggles and, through our organizations, we urge people to take to the streets and build organizations from neighborhoods, unions, student centers, and grassroots organizations, as a means of building popular power.

The people from below are moving. In some places, they have managed to unnerve the ruling class. Every march, every assembly, every strike strengthens the bonds of solidarity and reinforces the conviction that a new, just, and free world is not only necessary but also possible.

For the construction of popular power

Long live the resistance of the people!

Long live those who fight!
