(en) France, Monde Libertaire - Monde Libertaire - October 2025 Program of the Show Femmes Libres (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]
Date
Mon, 20 Oct 2025 08:54:17 +0300
Femmes Libres is a space for reflection and study on the specific
oppression of women in a patriarchal and capitalist society built on
male domination. This space highlights the strategies of defense,
denunciation, and reconstruction developed by feminist movements,
drawing on the analysis of social relations of sex, gender, class, and
origin. Each show generally includes three parts: guest speakers;
activist information (meetings, conferences, publications, films,
exhibitions...); and weekly rotating segments: La Tribune libre, From
Eve to Philomene and the others... Each month, the program is shared
within the feminist network; it is often republished in outlets such as
the Ruptures network, on the mailing list efigies.org, in Télérama, as
well as on the website https://www.monde-libertaire.fr/.
Recordings of the shows are available at:

Wednesday, October 1
From Eve to Philomene and the others: Susanna Ounei (1945-2016), from
the Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia), a central figure in the Kanak
independence movement and an activist of gender feminism within this
colonial context.
Patricia Raccah: The Consent of Galatea, Les Cahiers de l'égaré, 2025.
Fairy tale, fable, or autofiction, this text brings together an artist,
Pygmalion, and his muse, Galatea. For Pygmalion, Galatea embodies
various female roles and characters, exploring the infinite value of
speech and silence.
Wednesday, October 8
Accords et à Cris #12: Christine Massetti, composer, a genre of her own.
Violinist and composer, she explores music from classical to
contemporary, which she describes as "a field of endless possibilities
and experimentation." Among her musical projects, she created, with the
Talea Quartet, Windows to the Sky, a performance uncovering a hidden
history: the fight and revolt of women composers, relegated by men to
the role of muses, performers, or simply to the kitchen.
Christian Eyschen: The Sexual Question and Free Thought, Editions de la
Libre Pensée, 2025. Free Thought has always advocated for total
individual freedom respecting others and equality of rights. Today, Free
Thought seeks to go further, opening debate on all matters related to
sexuality and its implications.
Wednesday, October 15
Free Tribune: Gender? So many stories ...
The book From Eve to Philomene and the others, Monde libertaire, 2025,
by Sylvie Gillot and Hélène Hernandez. As part of Femmes Libres, Sylvie
dedicates herself to (re)discovering exceptional women through their
portraits. All worked for women's emancipation, often going far beyond
the simple quest for equality. Scientists, artists, and activists fought
against gender assignments, paving their way boldly despite prejudice
and obstacles. Twenty-six portraits of mostly little-known feminists,
remarkably illustrated by Amande Art and OLT.
Wednesday, October 22
Poetic Opus: Two works published by Les Éditions La rumeur libre:
History of a March in the Open Sky followed by Dust(s) by Éloïse Sekula,
and The Castaways of the Desert by Zingonia Zingone.
Somayeh Rostampour: Armed Women, Knowledge in Revolt. From Kurdish
Militancy to Jineolojî, Agone Editions. In urgency and in the face of
war's violence, a women's movement organized in non-mixed settings
fights not only for the liberation of its people but also for its own
emancipation. A sociologist specializing in social movements and gender
studies, the author focuses in particular on Kurdistan, Turkey, and Iran.
Wednesday, October 29
Femicides in France: A review of the first ten months of 2025 according
to Féminicides par compagnons ou ex.
(Expected) Yvan Jablonka: The Culture of Femicide, Le Seuil. Femicides
appear everywhere. From the Bible to Netflix, all arts - mythology,
painting, theater, cinema, song - have staged the killing of women.
Their death appears realistic but also, and above all, symbolic. How has
sexualized murder become a central part of our imaginations - an obvious
expectation, the grammar of our books and films?
To contact the show: 01 43 71 89 40 on Wednesdays between 6:30 p.m. and
8:30 p.m., during music breaks.
