in the latest upheavals in the Near and Middle East-and their current 
allies-are attempting to portray themselves as defenders of the 
oppressed people, slayers of imperialism, or guarantors of regional or 
global stability, we believe it is important to relay internationalist 
positions that set the record straight: no war between peoples, no peace 
between classes!

Opposition to War and Warmongering Policies
The Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company Workers' Union, a member of the 
International Trade Union Network for Solidarity and Struggle, transmits 
this text, signed with other independent organizations in Iran:

In view of the current unstable and dangerous conditions in Iran and the 
region, the undersigned organizations consider it their duty to adopt a 
collective position.

Iranian workers-laborers, teachers, nurses, retirees, and other 
employees-have never had and will never have any interest in war, 
militarization, the bombing of the country, or policies of oppression 
and exploitation. Israeli military attacks and the bombing of hundreds 
of targets in various parts of Iran-including infrastructure, 
workplaces, refineries, and residential areas-are part of a warmongering 
project whose cost is being paid with the lives, livelihoods, and 
futures of ordinary people, especially the working class.

Israel's claim that it harbors no hostility toward the Iranian people is 
nothing more than a lie and political propaganda. Just yesterday, the 
Israeli Defense Minister threatened to "burn Tehran." Repeated threats 
from Trump and other US officials, as well as the full support of 
Western governments for such actions, have only fueled tensions, 
insecurity, and destruction in the region.
The governments of Israel and the United States bear primary 
responsibility for the ongoing genocide in Gaza and numerous other 
crimes in the region and around the world. The United Nations and 
international institutions that hypocritically present themselves as 
defenders of peace while remaining silent in the face of these 
atrocities are part of the same system of domination. The entire global 
capitalist system, its profit motive, and the imperialist powers are the 
main causes of wars, human catastrophes, and environmental destruction.

Not only does the Iranian working class benefit nothing from the war, 
but these wars have directly targeted their lives and security. 
Continued economic sanctions, the allocation of massive budgets to 
military affairs, and the restriction of freedoms will lead to worsening 
poverty, increased repression, hunger, death, and the displacement of 
millions of people.
We, the independent workers' and grassroots organizations and activists 
in Iran, have no illusions that the United States and Israel want to 
bring us freedom, equality, and justice-just as we have no illusions 
about the repressive, interventionist, and anti-worker nature and 
conduct of the Islamic Republic.

We, the workers of Iran, have for many years paid a heavy 
price-imprisonment, torture, executions, dismissals, threats, and 
beatings-in our struggle to guarantee the most basic rights and 
necessities of life. We remain deprived of the right to organize, to 
assemble, and to freedom of expression. The workers of this country are 
rightly furious and exasperated by the Islamic Republic and the 
capitalists who, over the past four decades, have amassed astronomical 
wealth at our expense while condemning us to perpetual insecurity and 
deprivation. All officials and institutions involved in the repression 
and murder of workers, women, youth, and the oppressed people of Iran 
must be prosecuted and held accountable by the oppressed people themselves.

Our struggle as workers is a social and class struggle. It will only 
progress by relying on our own strength, in the continuity of the 
movements of recent years - notably "Bread, Work, Freedom" and "Women, 
Life, Freedom" - and in solidarity with the international working class 
and all humanist, libertarian and egalitarian forces. The continuation 
of the current war can only lead to further destruction, irreversible 
environmental damage, and a repetition of human catastrophes. The 
working class and impoverished people of Iran-like the oppressed in 
other countries in the region-are among the main victims of this situation.

The undersigned organizations call on all trade unions, human rights 
institutions, anti-war groups, environmental activists, and peacekeepers 
around the world to unite in demanding an immediate end to the war, 
bombings, massacres of innocents, and environmental destruction, and to 
support the struggles of the Iranian people and the region to end 
genocide, militarism, and repression.

The people of the Middle East urgently need an end to the devastating 
tensions between regional and global powers and a just and lasting 
peace-a peace in which people can determine their own destiny through 
organizing, mass organizing, expanding protests, and direct and 
collective participation.
