(en) Argentina, OAC: 89 Years After the Spanish Social Revolution (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Date Mon, 25 Aug 2025 08:40:24 +0300

89 years ago, anarchism demonstrated undisputed strength among the oppressed classes, a force that enabled it to confront the fascist coup that began on July 17 in Morocco and would soon spread to the Iberian Peninsula. This reactionary apparatus, driven by the army, the church, and political sectors of the Spanish right, met with fierce resistance from workers and peasants organized in their unions and political organizations, who soon established popular militias. Thus, the armed people would carry out a true social revolution that would sweep away the old established order, collectivizing the lands in the hands of the landowners, the industries of the bourgeoisie, the means of transportation, and other essential services. Those at the bottom no longer feared the ruins because they carried a new world in their hearts.

Nine years after the birth of the anarchist organization of Córdoba, our ideas and our will are directed toward building a solid political organization of anarchism to resist and combat this system of exploitation and death. We understand that we cannot advance in any way toward breaking with this patriarchal colonial capitalist system if we do not recover the social vector of anarchism. We need to be fully present in the struggles of the oppressed classes that are taking place in this hostile context, since it is not only anarchists who must take the revolutionary rupture against the system of domination and the regime that supports it into our own hands, but rather the entire oppressed classes who have the capacity to reverse this domination. We have the task of contributing a class-based and revolutionary perspective to the organization of popular forces, where workers and the people themselves are the true protagonists of political life and take their destiny into their own hands. The history of the OAC is a history of collective construction, of comrades who, through willpower, commitment, and perseverance, make it grow day by day, both politically and socially, nurturing and developing anarchism as a tool for the emancipation of the people.
The task is and will be to build socialism in freedom.

For the construction of a strong people
For socialism in freedom
Long live those who fight!
Long live anarchy!
