The Askanews agency reports that Foreign Minister Tajani said "Italy was 
not informed before the attack, even if it was in the air. For now, the 
US has not requested military bases in Italy. And no planes have taken 
off from Italy". If the quote was reported correctly, such a statement 
seems ridiculous. An operation of this size cannot take place without 
information, especially towards the authorities of a country whose 
airspace is crossed by the operation. Let us remember that in 2011, 
Italy participated in the bombing of Libya with its own planes at the 
same level as the United Kingdom and France, carrying out bombing 
actions and eliminating anti-aircraft positions. The government then led 
by Berlusconi declared at the time that Italy had not participated in 
the operations, for fear that protests against the intervention would 
develop. A news item from June 22, which went unnoticed but was clearly 
reported by ANSA, is that Defense Minister Crosetto has redefined the 
Defense communication methods, assigning important responsibilities to 
the Defense General Staff, the Interforce Summit Operations Center and 
the Navy Public Information and Communication Office. The minister in

Unfortunately, Italy is involved in the US bombing of Iran, just as it 
is involved in the recent Israeli bombings, in the genocide in Gaza and 
Palestine, in the war in Eastern Europe. In Italy there are numerous US 
bases, including two air bases, Aviano and Sigonella, which have played 
a leading role in the wars of recent decades, particularly in the 
Balkans and the Middle East. Furthermore, in Sicily there is one of the 
four MUOS antennas existing at a global level, which guarantee the 
military satellite communications system to the USA. It is clear that 
these structures cannot not be involved in similar operations. There are 
movements rooted in the territories that oppose these bases, just as 
there are struggles among transport workers to stop military loads. 
Let's make sure that these struggles extend to larger sectors of 
society. Let's stop the war.
