It's that time again. Like last year, we want to take to the streets
with you this year too. A lot has changed since then. And somehow it's
still the same shit. Authoritarianism will continue to rise in 2024. In
Russia, Argentina, even in the Dresden city council. Everything is
getting worse and worse and yet somehow it is already normal. ---- At
the same time, we are finally experiencing effective strikes and
industrial action that is visible in the media. And that, although every
effort is being made to delegitimize this industrial dispute in front of
the population. The reaction to the GDL strikes is an example of an
attempt to prevent solidarity organizing in everyday work. Another
example where we see ignorance of human working conditions is in the
immediate vicinity of the Tesla factory in Brandenburg. In addition to
catastrophic working conditions, unsuccessful attempts were made to
prevent the election of a works council. What was fortunately not
successful here unfortunately succeeds far too often, especially
internationally, in countries where many have to work in inhumane
working conditions.
We must not forget the multiple exploitation of many women, trans*,
inter and non-binary people through social attribution to reproductive
and care work, as well as the power relations in patriarchy. The
actually biggest and most important jobs in this society are shitty or
not paid at all. You can see that more people are embracing feminism,
but action doesn't grow from it.
But we need action! We need revolutionary and not bourgeois feminism!
It was nice to see how many of us were at the Feminist Day of Fight on
March 8th. The school strike, the rally and the final demonstration gave
us strength. We have to use these because at the same time anti-feminist
and anti-trans* movements are gaining strength, which are part of the
right-wing culture war and reach far into civil circles. Home is one of
the central venues. Let us unitedly declare war on these movements, but
also on the social power relations in this system! Let's make our lives
together self-determined and fair and overcome capitalism and patriarchy!
We need social countervailing power! In order to build this, we have to
organize ourselves. So come out on the streets with us on May 1st to
exchange ideas, network and give your fight expression and visibility.
This year there will also be a demonstration with a final rally, where
we can have a quiet conversation between speeches, reading and delicacies.
Out for May 1st: Who if not us? When, if not now?
Anarchist May Day demonstration starts at Dippoldiswalder Platz at 12:30 p.m
Rally with stands, workshops and speeches at the Artesian Well from 2:00 p.m
Opening of the FAU Dresden union hall at Bürgerstrasse 52 at 7:00 p.m
