On February 15, 1999, the pioneer of the Kurdish freedom movement,
Abdullah Öcalan, was arrested by the Turkish state. Even 25 years later,
he is still in solitary confinement on the prison island of Imralı. ----
His release is one of the central demands of the Kurdish freedom
movement. To bring them to the public, the internationalist long march
takes place every year. This year it will end on February 17th with a
large, Europe-wide demonstration in Cologne.
The anarchist movement stands on the side of the Kurdish freedom
movement, its fight for democratic self-determination, women's
liberation and ecology, as well as the revolution in Rojava. Abdullah
Öcalan, who has decisively promoted this perspective, must be released!
That's why we're calling on anarchists from all over Germany and
surrounding countries to come to Cologne on February 17th to take part
in the demonstration. More detailed information about mobilization,
travel options, starting point of the demo and anarchist participation
will follow in the next few weeks.
