The CNT-FTE (Federation of Education Workers) is amazed by the
outrageous articles appearing in the press lately. The writers are
participating in the criminalization of the high school student movement.

By trying to marginalize the leadership of the CNT-FAL (Formation
Action Lycéenne, the high school section of CNT Education),
the democratic nature of which helps everyone to fight the Fillon
law, the press is obviously flexing its muscles in the interests of
power. The accusation that the CNT has infiltrated the movement
is completely unfounded.

We want to state very forcefully that the CNT cannot be accused of
practicing infiltration within political parties or bureaucratic unions.
We will never infiltrate any movement but will continue to function
as legitimately as any other social movement participant.

We want to reaffirm our support to the students in struggle. Their
movement is completely legitimate. We know that the Fillon law
was imposed against the will of all school stakeholders: parents,
students and unions. A government that carries out regressive
social policies will continue to use police violence in its attempts to
bring the students to their knees. Now the media (Figaro, Europe1,
Nouvel Observateur, etc.) are no longer content just to echo the
government but are trying to name the "culprits."

On Wednesday, April 20th, after the occupation of the office of the
National Education Ministry on Pasteur Street in Paris, 200
hundred students, all minors, were stopped around 6 P.M. and
detained by police. THAT is the real scandal. These practices are
unacceptable, and we will always denounce them whenever they
occur.

We repeat that the CNT is not "an anarchist union" as the media
persist in calling it but a union of anarcho-syndicalist and
revolutionary syndicalist workers. Our syndicalism assures our
autonomous actions in the various struggles. Our sovereign general
assemblies, mutual aid toward those in struggle and leadership role
rotation are very far removed from political or union manipulation.
We will continue to defend a grassroots syndicalism of class
struggle.
