Windows of Kaos GL Center Broken With Stones
This morning [23rd of July] when we came to our center
we have seen that two of our hall's windows were
broken. Breaking two big window's of the hall, two
fist sized concrete pieces have fallen on the hall. We
have shocked with the scene of broken glasses on our
meeting table, scattered harmfully on the flowers and around.
Our center is located on the sixth floor of the
building and as the stones that were thrown only
hit Kaos GL in the building, it shows that directly
our center was aimed. Just like homosexuals may come
out from every section of the society, also hate and
homofoby that may result with assault can come out
from every field of the life. For now yet we do not
know who did this assault.
This assault is against the right to be seen and
expression and organization right of gay-lesbians.
Being against individuals defending gay-lesbian
rights and Kaos GL, consequently this assault
also aimed at human rights struggle and human rights
defenders.
Just like it is seen in every part of the world
as gay-lesbian liberation struggle is socialized,
we are encountering with homofobic mentality
against homosexuals in forms of grudge and hate.
It is hate because just for being homosexuals and
just for that we do want to live in the society
freely as homosexuals we are facing such assaults.
This assault is a human rights violation. We as gay
and lesbians are facing with hate and such assaults
in our family, at our school, in our workplace, in
our street, in every section and institution of the
society. As gay-lesbians we are coming together and
struggling against these. We will carry on our
struggle for equality and liberty.
