Precisely today I received the "periódico CNT" from July, where in
central pages there's an extensive interview with Galeano, the last
section of which under the title "Venezuela, another example" is
dedicated to sing praise to Chavez, who, according to the Uruguayan
writer: " continues to perform a national sovereignty policy in a country
with oil".
Happily, our comrades from CNT editorial collective had the good
inspiration to publish in the pages following this interview the long
article "Globalisation at winners step", from Rafa and originally
published in El Libertario # 37 [from Venezuela], where he describes in
all details (and namely concerning the oil business) in what consists this
so-called"national sovereignty defence" which, paradoxically charms both
"left wing divine superstars" and transnational corporations chairmen.
In conclusion if you read what Galleano says, perhaps you agree with me
that it's a true shame that the last paragraph of such interview shows so
much blindness to totally verifiable facts and in total contradiction with
the sharp lucidity shown in other parts of this interview.
