City Mourns Murder of Robert "Standing Deer" Wilson
Although details are still emerging, Houstonians and others all over
the world are mourning the murder of longtime Peltier associate,
former political prisoner and Houston activist Robert "Standing Deer"
Wilson. In 1978, Standing Deer exposed a government plot to
assassinate Leonard Peltier, and he suffered many more years in prison
because of it. Standing Deer was released a few years ago and became
active shortly thereafter. Standing Deer is remembered as a wise,=20
kind and giving man who supported youth organizing and was always
willing to share his experiences. More as this story develops.
