  Join us, Sunday April 22nd at 6pm at the First Unitarian Church on the 
corner of Cass and Forest in Detroit, MI. in a benefit dinner for the Active 
Transformation (AT) Newspaper.  AT has been publishing in Michigan for over 
7 years.  We have a commitment to telling the news that goes unreported, the 
news of our daily lives; our struggles, our politics, our culture.  We wish 
to expand our coverage of local issues and become a more reliable source of 
information in our communities and workplaces.

  Half of the door will be going to support the Chattanooga 3 (Lorenzo
Kom’boa Ervin, Damon McGee, and Mikail Musa Muhammad).  The Chattanooga 3 
are three black anti-police brutality activists who were convicted of 
disrupting a meeting of the Chattanooga City Council almost 3 years ago. 
They are appealing the charges, but could also be facing possible felony 
charges due to police provocateur activities.  JoNina Abron of the Black 
Autonomy Network of Community Organizers, and the International Committee to 
Support the Chattanooga 3 will join us and give an update of where their 
case is at.

  Also, Jason Wade, of the Active Transformation Newspaper Collective will 
talk about the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), or NAFTA on steroids. 
He will discuss what it is, what it will mean to our local communities, and 
what is happening to stop it.

How much: $10 (no one turned away for lack of funds)
Is the food all vegetarian? Yes (and labeled if not vegan)
